Jathans Mind!

Its hard to believe that ten years has passed and EJA is still a huge part of my life. When I joined EJA I had only been in one other clan, a clan that I only wasn't part of because they didn't or hadn't upgraded to the new 1.04 patch system for JK2.

So I'm sitting in some random JK2 server on Bespin dueling at the pad and doing well with my awesome bluestance of fury. When two EJA members, Auron and DarkLord come duel me. They duel me a few times each, losing each time and they both start messaging me. Asking me to join them. They explain they had only created EJA recently and were building up a clan, I thought ok I can get into that. So I joined up and was made Jedi Master immediately. Later that evening or maybe the next day, we recruited UberPwnage and thus we began building up EJA as a strong clan in members and talent. I met Neon, the other founding member, a day or two later and we hit it off immediately. I made the clans first website, my first attempt at website creation and we went from there.

The first month and a half was really smooth and easy. We built up to about 40 members and had our own server. We did clan matches some but not a lot. We were getting to be fairly well known in the JK world. Until that night in mid September. Auron was feeling particularly powerful one night, and things started to get heated. He and a few of us had been talking a lot about evening the power of the clan across a council, making it more democratic, but he liked the power as leader. Understandable the guy was only 12 at the time.

One night on the WoV map, myself, neon, uber, noname and a few others changed our name from {EJA} to {X-EJA}. Many then followed suit including DarkLord. Auron was shocked and we thought understood what we wanted because after talking he calmed down and we changed back. It only took a few days, maybe a week for us to know that he was still mad at us. He basically got angry and quit EJA, hoping that we would fail and he took about half the members with him, some very powerful and skilled members.

It was at this time that Neon approached me. He told me that some of the others had talked and wanted me to become leader. I of course didn't want that responsibility. I thought Neon was the natural choice, co-founder, mature but he assured me that the members remaining wanted me to be the leader. I humbly accepted that role and we began to rebuild what was left of our clan into the EJA you see today. Focusing on relationships, positive attitudes and having fun. It has always been my goal to create a positive atmosphere for our members.

Once I took over I started to put my stamp on this clan. Creating a council of responsible loyal members. Who would help me to build up this group to become the best clan in the JK community. In JK2 world we were very well known and when we entered JKA, our popularity grew. One of the first fully built clans in the JKA land, we grew in popularity and respect. We had some of the best Duelists in the game. During this time we recruited, Erebus, Eagle, Xtraneous, Icey, DarthVengeant. So many people joined the clan.

I miss a lot of the older members, ones that just disappeared without a word. I have a personal bond with many of our older members, they have become my brothers. It is a good feeling to know that after so many years, many of those people still look to EJA for a connection.
